We hope you are all well. Can’t wait for the weather to be more like summer!
We will be going back to Liberia July 23rd through August 5th. We have bought our tickets, about $4500. Then we will also need about $1600 for additional expenses. If you would like to just donate, you can write a check to Faith Baptist church and mail it to the church at 4350 Russell Ave N, Minneapolis MN 55412. Please write a note that it is for Dia and I. You could also attend our Liberia fundraising dinner, date TBD (I'm thinking a week day in June). We need the $1600 by July 15th.
We would like to earn the $4500 to pay for our tickets. If you would like to support us for our ticket prices there are a number of ways.
I recently became a Norwex Independent Sales Consultant. What is Norwex? They are an environmentally friendly company whose mission is to “Improve qualify of life by radically reducing the chemicals in our homes” and many products reduce consumables. Norwex can do most cleaning with water and a cloth. The household package - 3 products - covers 80-90% of cleaning and are guaranteed for 2 years (but will likely last 5 years+). Think of the paper towels and spray cleaners you wouldn’t need to buy or use! Please contact me for more information or if you’re interested in hosting a party. There is a special in June: people who book a party from a party and holds it within 45 days are gifted an Enviro cloth. You can also just order items at KristinaThao.Norwex.biz
You could also buy one of the scarves I’ve sewn. They are all infinity, cloth scarves. One is $10, or two for $15. Please connect with me if you would like to stop by to see them. If you know of an event that I could sell them at, please let me know! (I am out of town for Victory Memorial Garage Sales.)
Ladies, I will give a 30 minute back rub for $10. I’ve been told I give good back rubs. Come to me, or collect a few friends and I’ll come to you. You can watch a Netflix tv show while at my home, play soothing music, or talk. Just let me know ahead of time.
Dia will be making his homemade bread. Dates TBD. Please note they need to be eaten within 2-3 days or they will get moldy. He makes loaves ($5), baguettes ($3), and focaccia ($4). We’ll take orders.
I will only be working a couple days a week over the summer. So you can also hire me for a few hours during the day, starting the second week of June, for odd jobs: cleaning, organizing, manual labor. Pay what you deem appropriate for the job. Please schedule with me.
Little can I express in
words about my 12 days in Liberia. Photos are great but don’t do justice. Even
the eyes can’t catch everything, and the mind forgets easily. Chaos and being
overwhelmed sets in almost instantly. However, through the chaos there is
peace.
Peace in the faces of
the smiling kids. Peace in the brand new life that Percy/Macy, the house cat,
gave to her four kittens. Peace that comes in the form of the love that kids
share with hugs, and peace that we as a team share through the love of Christ.
Meet Yebah. A second
grade boy who constantly wanted to hang out with me. He would like to be a
minister someday -- Amen to that! It was very rare to hear that from most of
the kids that I spoke to. Some of the older kids wanted to go into “Military
Science” or the Army/UN. I am unsure about why they want to enlist other than
making “good money”. I pray that they dream beyond making money but to be
reminded of God’s love and to help the people in need.
A song that kept
resonating in my mind during the trip was “Spirit Speaks" by “All Sons and
Daughters”.
Here is part of the lyrics that spoke to me.
You spoke life into my
lungs
You are the air I
breathe
You are the air I
breathe
Still you move inside of
me
You are the song I sing
You are the song I sing,
Jesus
With every breath I
breathe
With every song I sing
I want to shout it out
Lord I am listening
To every word you speak
I'll go where you will
lead
To love the least of
these
Is my greatest offering
I learned about their
handshake, their passion to sing to the Lord, their welcoming love, their
willingness to learn and their ability to memorize, particularly Bible verses.

If anyone knows someone who would like to donate money for the indestructible soccer balls, we'd love to bring a few of those over and should probably order soon, IF we're going to get them. (10ish at $19/ball)

The World’s First Virtually-Indestructible Ball
We're 19 days to take off. We were asked to have monies in by the 1st (I'm hoping to stretch it another week). We're about $2000 from being fully funded. If you can spare $5, we'd appreciate it. Or if you would like to purchase a piece of jewelry (see previous post), that'd be awesome.
We really appreciate everyone that has already contributed. Thank you.
Please pray for us as we wait on the Lord and contemplate the sacrifices we might need to make to finish paying for the trip.
